Buried Memory
This is a ring I made for a friend of my parents. and it would become a very special piece of work to create. The client isn’t fond of gold, yet, he wished to own a ring that contained the gold of his father's wedding ring. On top of that, he also wanted a stone on top of it: a rough-cut Aventurine.
after a lot of sketches and ideas, we settled on an open floored ring. the idea was: The gold would still be seen if the ring wasn’t being worn. When the ring was worn, he’d wear the gold without seeing the gold, as the stone on top of it made it so he didn’t need to see the gold itself.
The ring became a very special piece. and a wonderful Memory.
